Avaya Augments Desktop Experience

The desktop experience is one many view as archaic, what with the freedom and flexibility delivered by the wave of innovation taking place. But there are certain gigs that require the desktop, and rely on the desktop to provide results, like the contact center agent. With each caller, the quality of the interaction hinges on the desktop experience.

Avaya aims to improve the desktop experience with a number of new additions to its portfolio. These include headsets, expanded feature support as well as the general availability of Device Enrollment Service 2.0 and improvements to the Essential Experience J100 Series.

The Avaya Device Enrollment Service (DES) 2.0 delivers zero touch provisioning for smart desktop devices, in addition to stronger security and assist in scaling operations.

The J100 Expansion Module enables enhancing the Essential Experience IP phones with a high resolution experience – a good fit for reception or administration positions. Other additions include Bluetooth connectivity to Essential Experience J179, and now monitors and supports Avaya SIP, H.323 and Open SIP architectures.

This announcement marks a strong stride in expanding its Open SIP smart devices portfolio, which will support UCaaS service providers to widely add Avaya Open SIP.

"Avaya continues to make significant strides in revolutionizing the desktop space and advancing the Open SIP market,” said Ard Verboon, General Manager of the Devices portfolio, Avaya. “With the availability of support for Broadsoft advanced features combined with the large breadth of the Avaya Desktop Experience portfolio, Avaya is now a one-stop shop for any smart device that a company may need, and UCaaS providers can now look to Avaya to meet their smart devices needs–from the professional desktop, to campus mobility, to personal and room conferencing, to headsets–as well as industry vertical solutions.”
