Vonage Unveils New Messaging Solution

Business communications is transforming. A key chapter in this narrative is how companies are engaging customers. The digital age is driving multi-channel collaboration, and courtesy of a new wave of APIs the way businesses message with customers will never be the same.

Vonage announced that Nexmo, the Vonage API Platform, unveiled a new messaging solution with two new APIs – Messages API and Dispatch API –providing the cornerstone.

Nexmo Messages API supports major social chat apps, MMS and SMS, delivering the companies the ability to send feature-rich messages; single-event callbacks include message status, timestamp, price and error message; and direct connections to carriers as well as Vonage’s adaptive routing technology.

Nexmo Dispatch API ensures message delivery with failover capabilities. If a message sits undelivered or unread, it will automatically be sent to another channel. Dispatch API allows firm to deploy a custom social messaging strategy. Moreover, developers can visibility into the outcome and total cost of delivery attempts.

"At Vonage, we understand how valuable, but also how challenging, it is for companies to seamlessly communicate with their customers, no matter what new messaging channels emerge," said Omar Javaid, Chief Product Officer for Vonage. "Together, the Messages API and Dispatch API empower companies with the agility and control required to quickly and easily integrate strategic new channels, and to ensure message delivery, every time. This frees companies to focus on what matters most - delivering engaging customer experiences to drive better business outcomes."

Customer engagement is a priority, driving communication providers to create new and innovate ways to reach customers where they prefer to converse.
