Cloud Communications Week in Review: Fusion, MIPS, BNT

Welcome to the all-new Cloud Communications Online Community, sponsored by Fusion, which launched this week. The Cloud Communications Community is a comprehensive resource for enterprises seeking up-to-the- minute information on cloud contact center solutions, including cloud-based voice, unified communications, cloud connectivity and other advanced cloud services. And now it’s time to look at what happened for the inaugural Week in Review.

At this point, it feels as though there are countless cloud service providers, each pitching virtually the same product suite and making the same promises of reliability, services, features and performance. The key differentiator in an arena such as the cloud is the personal touch. Take long time partners BNT and Fusion, for example. BNT’s Mike Profant enthusiastically explained that beyond the carrier grade solutions the duo delivers, whether it’s traditional networking, cloud-based telephony, managed services, etc., the cloud services provider puts a personalized touch on the partnership.

The cloud was once considered questionable, today however this transformative technology is driving change across all points of the enterprise – from the contact center and customer service, all the way up to the c-suite. When looking at why to migrate to a cloud-based approach, the laundry list is quite lengthy. When turning to a single source for the cloud, a contact center receives a fully integrated cloud communications and connectivity package. Take Fusion’s Contact360 solution as an example. Top to bottom, an organization can bask in the benefits of a fully integrated environment joining voice, desktop, data, web and mobile technologies.

According to a recent release, MIPS, processor architecture and IP core for licensing company, has made available its new I7200 multi-threaded multi-core processor, which is a new high performance licensable IP core in the 32-bit range. The I7200 reportedly delivers 50 percent higher performance with less than 20 percent area increase over the previous generation.
